Our footprint
Sustainability pledge
We advise others on sustainability, so we hold ourselves to the same standard. These are the commitments we run the studio by, reviewed every year.
How we work
- Remote-first: we work from home by default, avoiding commuting and daily office energy use.
- Low-carbon travel: we take trains over planes where the journey is practical, and bundle meetings to cut total trips.
- Minimal waste: workshops and events are designed around reusable materials, digital handouts and local catering.
- Energy-conscious digital: this website runs with efficient code, compressed assets, and a dark-mode option that can reduce screen energy use on OLED devices.
Suppliers and purchasing
We choose suppliers who publish their own environmental commitments and pay fair wages. We keep our tech stack lean, avoid unnecessary subscriptions, and buy refurbished hardware where it meets our needs.
Honest about limits
We will not claim to be net zero, carbon neutral, or climate positive unless we have the verified evidence to back it. If a trade-off exists, we describe it plainly rather than hide it behind a certificate.
Continuous improvement
Once a year we review this pledge against our actual activity: miles travelled, energy used, waste produced, and supplier performance. If we miss a target, we say so and we reset the target with a better plan.
Hold us to it
